Coursera - ModPo - Emily Dickinson - 269 Wild Nights - A Reductive Reading
Wild nights - Wild nights!
Date night - Date night.
Were I with thee
If we were together,
Wild nights should be
Date night would be
Our luxury!
something nice that we would have every so often.
Futile - the winds -
(intro to sailing metaphor) There's no longer movement
To a Heart in port -
because my heart/life is now centered at home
Done with the Compass -
Done with the Chart!
I no longer need tools to navigate the outside world.
Rowing in Eden -
We had an arguement. (a chiefly British definition of row is "a noisy acrimonious quarrel" SEE OED)
Ah - the Sea!
I miss the life outside my home.
Might I but moor - tonight -
If only I had one more night
In thee!
with you in your port/home.
